Specifically, for North Coast Music Festival I wanted to explore the festival vs. after-party. As anyone that has been to a festival before will tell you; there are going to be conflicts and you will most likely miss at least one set you were really trying to see. It’s a fact, it is going happen. But it is O.K. since they are playing an after-party, or is it?

The Music Riot achieved a re-appearance last year, after initial participation in the zine tent that started in 2002 . The Music Riot Zine got to chat with band members of I Fight Dragons, lead vocalist Moises Juarez of Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds, and MOD SUN. Slovenian producer Denis Jasarevic AKA Gramatik, delivered an amazing sold out performance in Chicago with opening acts Minnesota and Manic Focus at the Riviera Theater on February 23rd
In recent years, photographers of The Music Riot Online Zine have experimented with recording live concert footage, as well as one-on-one video interviews with the performing artists. Currently, the videos are being compiled into trailers or edited into short clips for viewing audiences.

The festival indeed accomplished it’s goal this year in making Riot Fest 2012 “bigger and better.”
The Music Riot covered the very first Riot Fest in 2005 at the Congress Theater (when the venue still had the seats).
Mickey is the type of artist almost anyone can listen to and become inspired or get the urge to dance when tracks like “Jane Fonda” and “Junk in the Trunk” are played.
This was without a doubt, an indoor urban beach party.
Precisely when the show could not have gotten any better, Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool, came on stage and they performed “Passenger.”
Watching artists capturing artists was unparalleled and riveting to point of instantaneous motivation leading to creation of The Music Riot Online Magazine in 2002.
